Professional Bio
Irene is a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow of French from Kenya who received her PhD from Penn State University in French and Francophone Studies and African Studies. Irene’s research interests include: African Francophone Literatures, the study of trauma in children affected by civil war in Africa, identity politics, and postcolonial theory. Prior to coming to Penn State, Irene taught English at the Université de Tours in France.
