Professional Bio
Laurie Dubois is a doctoral student at the Pennsylvania State University in the French and Francophone studies department. She is pursuing a dual title in Women’s gender and Sexuality Studies. Prior to resuming her higher education, she was an elementary teacher in both France and Utah for about ten years. Drawing on this experience, her research interests include children’s literature and its use in the classroom, as well as nineteenth century schoolbooks, in particular those written by women.
