Professor Sandrine Siméon is Assistant Professor of French Language and Culture at Soka University of America. She received her Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University in 2013. Her research centers on Filming Theater. Her book project, Le film-théâtre. Éthique et esthétique du filmage de la scène, remedies the conceptual dearth regarding this emergent genre and confirms the sovereign rhetoric of films too often seen as a lesser art form. Her latest publications include a volume for Coup de Théâtre, articles in Romance Studies, Brazilian Journal of Presence Studies, European Drama and Performance Studies, and in Théâtre, levain du cinéma; théâtre, destin du cinéma.
