Grace Thompson

Biography:

Before coming to Penn State in 2012, Grace completed her B.A in French and English Literature at Franklin and Marshall College, where she also spent a semester studying abroad with the American University Center of Provence.  After having achieved her M.A.in Spring 2014, she is spending the 2014-2015 academic year abroad in Strasbourg, teaching English at the University of Strasbourg and continuing her research. Her research interests focus on 19th Century French travel literature, and exploring its intersection with gender studies. She is particularly interested in women travel writers, the relationship between the Other and the Self, and the notion of disguise.
